Simon Rose, an avid private pilot, always dreamed of being able to have a home where he could get up in the morning, jump into his trusty Stinson and take to the skies without the need to drive to the local airport. Unfortunately, in Canada there is a lack of airparks so the only option was to look for some suitable land to develop. For years he was unsuccessful in locating a nice flat, half mile that would be acceptable for the Stinson. Then one day he was driving home from the airport when he saw a sign that read  60 acres for sale.  After walking the bare farmland and realizing that it would work with some time and effort, he contacted the farmer for the details.

After a brief discussion with his beautiful and very understanding wife, the deal was made and Rose Field was in the works. That was in 2001.

The East/West strip was put in first, then a 50 X 60 hangar and a house built the following year as well as a North/South strip. A second hangar was constructed in 2007.

Simons two Stinsons, a 1948 108-3 and a V-77 Reliant are one hangar and the other hangar is rented to four other aircraft. A Fly In BBQ is held at Rose Field every year (see events page).
